About Me
My name is Jorelle and for the longest time, I have always wanted to write stories. Being read a story before bed was a highlight of my childhood and I wanted to make stories similar to the ones I was told and saw growing up.

Contrary to popular belief, because I loved to write, I did not enjoy reading in school. I respect the stories that I was forced to read in school as classic and ground-breaking achievements of literature, but so many of the classic stories bored me. I could never relate to those classic stories, so being forced to read something I had no interest in was difficult and put me off reading for many years.
​
It wasn't until I was college where I was doing my usual Godzilla research did I stumble upon my go-to genre of fantasy and folklore. Stories that were short, simple, sometimes with blatant morals and overly exaggerated with creative punishments or endings. They were fun, engaging and I wanted more. I kept started collected books about fairy tales or folklore creatures from around the world just to learn more about them.

I am motivated by having a clear objective and the feeling of "I'm tired of being depressed." I became a certified vet assistant so I can interact with a red panda (which I did!!) and because I disliked my job in retail. I published a book because I was heartbroken and tired of my old bosses saying I can't make certain things. So I made what I wanted. I made this website, because I was tired of doing jobs that I didn't enjoy or grow from anymore. To show everyone I am a capable writer and I want to continue writing.

There's a lot more to me than just this biography though. I'm cartoony, timid, a bit of an introvert, empathic, love Godzilla, and spend majority of my life collecting figures from shows and movies which inspired me growing up (Marvel, DC, Godzilla, DragonballZ, Naruto, MegaMan, Avatar The Last Airbender + Korra, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Star Wars + Star Trek). I could go on about myself, because I made sure to learn who I am, what I like, and what I want to do with my life.

And between collecting figures, watching Godzilla movies and spending time with my cat Kana, I want to write stories to help me manage my own internal struggles, but also entertain anyone interested who is willing to listen.
